Our family owns a small farm named Reed Farms in South Central PA. We grow grains like wheat. We use a modern stone mill to grind the grains into flour. We sift the flour to make products like this super easy whole wheat flour bread kit. We call this Mary's EZ Bread Kit because my mother-in-law, Mary, created the recipe. It is delicious.
The bread turns out denser than bread made with all-purpose flour.
The kit makes one small loaf of bread. The pictures attached are how the bread turns out for us.
Please keep in mind your altitude and the temperature of your home when baking and make adjustments if needed.
Ingredients: Reed Farms whole wheat flour, yeast, sugar, salt, vegetable oil, water.
Ingredients included in the kit: flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. All you must do is add the oil and water as instructed on the package.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine warm water, yeast and sugar - stir and let sit for 10 minutes. Combine this mixture with the flour, salt and vegetable oil. Let rise for an hour or until doubled in size. Beat down and pour dough in loaf pan. Let rise again until dough rises just above the rim of the loaf pan. Put in oven and bake for 25 minutes. Let cool before cutting and serving.
